This morning, North Delta employees hosted a litter cleanup event in celebration of Love the Boot Week! Our passionate volunteers collected five 30-gallon bags of litter from Kilpatrick Boulevard in Monroe, LA. Together, we can create a cleaner, greener, more beautiful Louisiana!
About Love the Boot Week: Love the Boot Week, April 20-28, 2024, is Louisiana’s annual Earth Week initiative, bringing awareness to Louisiana’s litter problem while empowering organizations and individual citizens to clean up litter and beautify spaces in their communities. In 2023, 12,777 individuals volunteered a total of 61,493 hours at 547 events, removing 313 tons of litter in all 64 parishes. In addition to litter removal, volunteers focused on community beautification, planting 370 trees and 3,542 plants, and refurbishing 146 gardens. This year, with support from Coca-Cola and Osprey Initiative, recycling of number #1 plastic bottles and aluminum cans will be available in 13 parishes for Love the Boot Week events. Love the Boot Week is organized by Keep Louisiana Beautiful and supported by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
