Thursday, February 8, 2024, Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) grant awardees met with North Delta employees, Tracy Ausberry and Jacqualine Closure, to discuss next steps. The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) uses the CIF to provide direct investment into community-based and regional projects that address DRA’s congressionally mandated infrastructure funding categories (Basic Public Infrastructure and Transportation Infrastructure) and flood control projects. CIF investments emphasize job creation, regional collaboration, and funding partnerships in communities.

The three awardees of the 2023 CIF competitive grant program from Northeast Louisiana are:

  1. The Columbia Port Rail Spur Construction project in Columbia, Louisiana, has been awarded more than $1 million to construct a rail spur that will provide a rail service at the Port of Columbia.
  2. The Fontana Road Improvements project in Monroe, Louisiana, has been awarded more than $2.4 million to widen and upgrade 0.98 miles of two-lane roadway.
  3. The Hodge South First Street Improvements project in Hodge, Louisiana, has been awarded more than $752,000 to extend and overlay First Street.
